SUMMARY OF STEPS TO ORGANIC PROSPECTING ON LINKEDIN:

STEP 1: Visit premium.linkedin.com to get full access and select tab (top). Depending on need, LinkedIn Premium and Business Plus is good to start. You’ll also have an opportunity to select a background image for further
branding and engagement.

STEP 2: Search for groups, and look for other existing members that you are connected with. Join groups in your related markets, and/or areas of interest and people you would like to connect with.
Once approved to join, read posts, add value and start connecting. Now the fun begins!

STEP 3: Under Interests (top navigation), select “Groups”, and you’ll see your existing and new groups that you may have joined. Select one to begin.

STEP 4: Select the navigation link that says “Members”

STEP 5: Search for a title. I’ll try ‘VP of Marketing’.

STEP 6: The key is now to look for professionals in your 2nd layer of network. I’ll pick this person.

STEP 7: Click the little blue link in the listing that says “Send message”. (Check the persons profile first, and make sure it’s somebody that you can help or want to engage with. Spamming willy-nilly is not a good option).
