“Watch the thinker”! The thinking mind is the stinking mind. Our human thoughts are powerful. Used in the wrong way, it can be disaster.
For example, how many times have you thought: “Oh, gosh – something will probably go wrong with <x>”, or “Man, if I don’t get that job, I’m toast” (and losing sleep every night until you get the interview), or “if I don’t get that date, my friends will laugh at me”, or “I don’t have enough money to pay rent this month, I’ll be on the street – and my family too” (ask me how you fix this, by the way), or (business): “That didn’t go so well, the client will probably not continue the contract or ever buy from me again”
I guess it’s this: “stop worrying”, “quit watching the stupid shows on TV” (or quit TV all together), and enjoy this:
If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don’t.
If you’d like to win but you think you can’t,
It’s almost a cinch you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost,
For out of the world we find
Success begins with a fellow’s will –
It’s all in the state of mind.
If you think you’re outclassed, you are;
You’ve got to think high to rise;
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.
Life’s battle doesn’t always go
To stronger or faster men;
But sooner or later the man who wins,
Is the one who thinks he can.
